Husqvarna 340iBT Backpack Blower Performance
- Model: Husqvarna 340iBT
- Power source: Husqvarna 36V battery
- Blowing force: 17N
- Power equivalence: 40cc
- Max airflow: 483 CFM
- Max air speed: 136 MPH
- Brushless motor
The Husqvarna 340iBT is the first dedicated battery-powered residential backpack blower in the brand’s lineup. Its brushless motor delivers airspeeds of up to 136 MPH and an airflow rate topping out at 483 CFM. It also has a Newton force rating of 17N and a gas equivalence of 40cc.
While these numbers may not seem overly ambitious, homeowners typically don’t need the same power as Pro landscapers when it comes to blowing force. Pro-grade battery-powered backpack blowers can reach more than 35 Newtons of blowing force for high-power clearing jobs.
However, I don’t think anyone expects Pro performance from a residential blower, but it gives us a good idea of the high end of the market.
If you look at what Husqvarna’s gas backpack blowers are capable of, they produce 21 – 30 Newtons, so the 340iBT isn’t quite up there.
On the handheld side, the battery-powered Leaf Blaster 350iB can hit 23.5 Newtons. So if you can get higher performance for less money, what advantage does the 340iBT offer?
Runtime.
While the blower only needs one battery to operate, you can carry two batteries in the backpack that automatically switch over when the first depletes. Plus, it’s much less fatiguing to use the highest-capacity batteries to maximize that runtime.

Husqvarna 340iBT Backpack Blower Design
- Dimensions (LxWxH): 55 x 22 x 24 inches
- Weight: 14 pounds
- Two battery slots
- Adjustable offset handle
- Padded, adjustable shoulder straps
This blower weighs 14 pounds without the batteries installed and around 19 pounds when loaded with two 4.0Ah batteries. As a backpack blower, most of that weight is offset onto your shoulders and torso, making it more balanced and reducing fatigue while you work.
The 16-inch tube has a diameter of 2.7 inches at the end, giving you a concentrated flow of air. The handle also features an adjustable, offset design for comfort and control.
Husqvarna 340iBT Backpack Blower Price
This blower retails for $419 as a bare tool. There are currently no kit options, so make sure to pick up a battery or two if you’re not already on this system. You can find the 340iBT at your favorite Husqvarna retailer, and it carries a 3-year warranty.
Should You Buy It?
As Husqvarna pushes further into the battery-powered lawn care sphere, more products are being added for both homeowners and Pros. In the case of the 340iBT backpack blower, it’s well-suited for residential medium-duty clearing and blowing applications when you want the highest runtime possible.
On the other hand, if blowing force is your highest priority, you should stick with Husqvarna’s residential gas backpack blowers or opt for the 350iB Leaf Blaster for a battery-powered option.
If you’re looking for a Pro model with higher performance, go for something like the 550iBTX for a boost (as expected, with a boost in price, too).
